In this case, I only copied this one file and renamed it from msft.mib to msft-mib.txt. You can use the same file from Windows Server 2003 to monitor Windows Server 2016. You can see this in the column named Missing Imports.Īs I already mentioned, all MIB files exist on any Windows Server and they are independent of the Windows Server version.

However, I got the error that a related MIB file is missing. You can also do this through the GUI – MIB Nodes > Files. I copied the appropriate MIB files on to the Dude server. In my case, I chose to monitor only the DHCP and WINS services. You don’t need all of them, but you may copy them all. Even better you can use the same process for any other device or service.Įvery version of Windows Server has those MIB files in the System32 folders. In this post, I will show you how to add a few Microsoft MIB files into the Dude’s MIB repository. You can check these posts about the SNMP feature or Dude monitoring. The SNMP protocol ( RFC1157 and other) is the public standard for network management. It’s capable of monitoring any network device with SNMP support. Mikrotik Dude is the NMS framework solution.
